Better marketing needed for Hyfrydle Children's Home says Burnham12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 15th Jul 2008 Commenting on Denbighshire County Council's planned closure of the Hyfrydle Children's Home for Autism, Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Children and Young People and Assembly Member for North Wales, said: "I have written and urged Hugh Evans, Leader of Denbighshire Council, to re-examine this decision and postpone the closure for three to six months allowing enough time to implement a better marketing strategy for the centre. With a stronger marketing campaign, I am confident the centre will be more successful and fill all its places; however it has not been given enough time since its opening for a proper chance at success by Denbighshire Council. "Centres such as this one are much needed by the community and it would be devastating to lose it. I have witnessed first hand the amount of community support and need there is for this centre. The users of the Hyfrydle Children's Home regard it as a lifeline and are fighting for the centre to stay open. "I feel there is an opportunity for this centre to succeed but we need Denbighshire Council to give Hyfrydle Children's home a fair chance to do this." Ends/Diwedd
