AM on Fact-finding Mission in Snowdonia

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 14th Aug 2008

On a recent Snowdonia National Park Authority fact-finding visit Eleanor Burnham, Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales, met with the Park's Chief Executive, Aneurin Phillips.

Eleanor commented, "It was very useful to meet both Aneurin and Emyr Williams, Director of Land Management to get an overview of their plans and current action programmes. I also had the opportunity of a site visit to tenant farmer Trevor Jones to discuss the Tir Gofal programme.

It now appears that the scheme has 1,169 farmers waiting to join so it is even more imperative that the Labour and Plaid - led Welsh Assembly Government clears the outstanding payments due to North Wales farmers - 288 out of 374 are still waiting."
